FAQ

Q: Are you a Cosplayer/LARPer?
A: No. I ammmmmmmmm not. I think it'd be fun to be in one, but I'm shy :]

Q: So what are you then?
A: I'm just a lady who appreciates armor, the integrity of battle, the art of fighting, and the brave warriors who once stood in their armor on the battlefield. Everything I do centers around my obsession for battle strategy, fantasy games, and writing.

Q: Why Armor?
A: My obsession with armor started out with a passion for designing clothing for my novel's characters. I began playing fantasy games like world of warcraft a couple of years later, and Soon enough, I noticed that the type of armor a character wore symbolized that character's abilities, race, culture, personality, etc. With this realization I wanted to incorporate this new discovery into my everyday life with costumes, jewelry, clothing, and my novel. I have so much planned for Armored Girl in those aspects it is unnnnnbelievable!

Q:What's the "Zodiac Project"?
A: I basically decided the next 12 Armor suits I make will be themed for each sign of the zodiac. Once they're done, I'll be putting all of them together for a calendar to put in my shop!

Q: What is am armor set or mini set?
A: An armor set or mini set is an outfit shot and styled together then sold piece by piece or as a set. Sets tend to be full suits of armor with accessories, and mini sets usually are just one to two accessories. Once a set or mini set has been sold out, they go into a collective photo album to showcase past designs.

Q:What else do you make?
A: I make prints, paintings, as well as accessories, but am now leaning more into clothing along with everyday items that are armor themed. I do also make dreadlocks on the side until I get my clothing line up and running. I'll be putting out some new tshirt designs soon, then work my way out to other things. :]

Q: Any tips or tricks to running a successful online business?
A: "The defining factor of your goal is not lack of resources, it is resourcefulness."

Q: Who takes your photos?
A: My brilliant and lovely boatfriend Vartan. He also edits them, as well as drives me to and from location, he sometimes even models for me :]

Q: Oh I'm glad you brought up editing, do you use photoshop on your models?
A: Only for trivial things like peeping buttcracks, misplaced trashcans, and watermark logos. We DO NOT edit models skin/hair/body parts and other humanly things, not that we're against it, we're just too lazy for that shit, it also helps promote more realistic imagery of the human body (which we think is pretty amazing).

Q: What are some of your favorite online resources for materials/accessories?
A: Joanns, hobby lobby, michael's and most of all the internet. I tend to look for keywords like "scraps" and "destash". If there's a bundle of cheap supplies somewhere, i'll take it.

Q: Hey how do you do/make/perform that? Can you make me a tutorial/take photos of how you made that?
A: I don't go up to a chef and ask him how he makes his super secret family recipe, please don't ask me about mine. I'm ALL about learning, and I love to help newbies find their own way, but I'm not down to show you Armored Grandma's secret cookies. However, if you need help with something, I'm usually more than glad to help!

Q: How long have you been modeling?
A: Not long enough, less than a year for sure. I only model for myself though, I feel uncomfortable in front of anyone else. We always have to find super reclusive outdoor sets for me to "get in the groove" of posing. I use a mirror too, because I'm not a model and have no idea what I'm doing :]

Q: Where do you get your inspiration and ideas from?
A: My surroundings. IE: past, present and future. I take the time to look at the beauty and good qualities in everything, and put it all into my creations, but mostly from my novel.

Q: Do you make Armor/clothing for men?
A: Most of my pieces are unisex, anyone who likes them can wear them. I recently had a male model one of my suits, and there will be plenty like him to come. I appreciate all different types of people of all genders to model my suits :]
